K - 2nd Grades

Scrubby Bear emphasizes the importance of personal hygiene
and how washing your hands can help prevent colds and flu. This course is taught using
posters and has a hand washing exercise (no water needed).
The presentation runs approximately 25 minutes. Color pages
are given to each child. There is no charge.
An extended course is available to teachers at a low cost which takes hygiene to the next level. |
Happy Hearts
1st - 5th Grades

Happy Hearts is a
new course that emphasizes the importance of good nutrition
and exercise with tips children can follow as well as a
segment of how the heart works. It also teaches children
how to recognize when adults may be having heart problems and
what to do. The presentation is around 25 minutes
long. There is no charge. |
A Fire-E-Tale
1st - 5th Grades

A Fire-E-Tale is a
video-based fire safety presentation. It stars two
"fire sisters" who's names are Ignita Fire and
Burnalotta Homes. One represents helpful fire, the other
harmful fire. The video is 15 minutes long. This
program is filled with life-saving tips and has age
appropriate handouts and activity sheets. It also
encourages in-home fire drills. There is no charge
for the presentation, and the curriculum can be purchased for
a nominal fee. |
Together We
Prepare
2nd - 5th Grades
 |
Together We Prepare
is a new community disaster education program. It is
designed to teach children and families how to be prepared and
take action in case of a disaster by making a plan, building a
kit, getting trained, volunteering and giving blood. The
children's part of the program focuses on encouraging family
participation in disaster and emergency preparedness. There
is no charge. |
Whale Tales
K - 5th Grades

Whale Tales is a
water safety presentation that is video-based. This
program teaches children how to respond to different
situations in and around the water. A
question and answer period with posters follows the
video. The presentation takes about 25 minutes and
there is no charge. There is extended course material teachers can
purchase at low cost to continue the message. |
Home Alone
K - 5th Grades

Home Alone is
designed to teach children simple rules and procedures for
responsible self-care. It covers what to do when they
are home alone in different situations and to always walk home
with a group of friends. The course comes with a
coloring book and puzzles. Children are encouraged to fill
out their own household rules with parents or guardians.

F.A.C.T.
K - 3rd Grades

First Aid for
Children Today (F.A.C.T.) is divided into six lessons on health and
safety that can be given by teachers over a period of
time. It covers everything from First Aid to Nutrition
with posters with lessons using animals such as
"First Aid Fox" and "Healthy
Hamster." This is an in-service course.
Teacher's manual and activity book are only $11.50.

Masters of
Disaster
K - 8th Grades

Masters of Disaster
is designed for use by classroom teachers while teaching
language arts, math, science and social studies. The
lessons and activities help integrate disaster safety
and science into their regular core subject areas. There
are three kits available broken down into grades K-2, 3-5 and
6-8. Each kit contains a book of lesson plans, activity
sheets, posters, stickers and a video. Teachers may use
as many or as few of the lessons as they wish throughout the
school year. Each set is $45. |
Facing Fear
K - 12th Grades

Facing Fear is an
interactive, standards-based curriculum supplement that helps
children explore their feelings after a tragic event. It
teaches how to put events in perspective and helps to
reinforce a sense of security by helping children convey their
thoughts and feelings. It also teaches how to recognize
and avoid misinformation and to help them look to the
future. Facing Fear leads the way to a healthy path to
normalcy, while learning to put events in perspective as well
as practicing emergency procedures. Lesson Plan and
Activity books are only $5. |
